The first generation Corolla is practical but with five seats it’s more of a large family car than an MPV. The styling is normal but the engines are good as is the handling. Reliability is again good and there are some useful extras that you don’t get with other rival models such as built-in child booster seats. There’s also lots of equipment as standard so if you want to buy a Used Toyota Corolla Verso you’ll find a decent car and a good price; less than ?5000. If you need a bigger one though you should look for the 2004 replacement.
