Inspiration ? the Reciprocal Gift
Tuesday, 02 October 2007

Inspiration is the stimulation of the mind or emotions to create a high level of feeling or activity. Many people are inspired by parents, teachers and other important role models at an early age to put forth their best efforts and be the best they can be. Inspiration is something that should be given to others as well as received from others for everyones self improvement.

People draw inspiration from many sources – people in their lives who have made a positive impact or the awesomeness of nature. Artists frequently get their inspirations from beautiful sunrises or sunsets, and events and people they may encounter during their lives often inspire writers. Many people are inspired at a young age by parents and teachers who encourage them to put their best foot forward in all things and aspire to be the best they can be both on a personal level and a business level.

Here are a few ways in which you can be a inspiration in someone's life:

Realize that someone is always aware of your actions. Set a good example with your actions and be someone that others will want to emulate.

Show a genuine interest in the people involved in both your personal and business life. If you show people that you actually care about them, they will be more open to suggestions and knowledge that may help and inspire them.

Support and encourage people who may be going through a rough time.

Share with others the stories and people that inspire you.

Be willing to share your own experiences with others. Use the wisdom that you have gained through rough experiences in order to inspire others to overcome problems they may be facing.

Be willing to share with others your failures as well as successes. In this way, you are showing others that everyone has shortcomings and that everyone faces challenges throughout life.

Effectively communicating is a critical part of inspiring others. Be aware of how you talk to others and the image that you are presenting. Never talk at someone; talk to someone.

Challenge the people in your life to be the best they can be by being the best that you can be.

Listen more than you talk. Others are more susceptible to being inspired by your words and actions if they feel that what they have to say is important to you.

Always present a positive attitude.

Don’t be afraid to take action when necessary, even if you are unsure about a situation. Share both your strengths and weaknesses with others.

Take a stand on important issues and never waver.

Always treat people with the same respect, dignity, and honesty that you wish to receive from them.

Inspiration is one of the many things that make for a happy and successful life. Remember that, as with most things, in order to be a true inspiration to those around you, you must walk the walk as well as talk the talk. Live your life each moment of each day as if someone may be inspired to be a better person from the example that you present. Be true to yourself and the people in your life will be inspired to emulate the best that you have to offer.

Annuity Life Care Plans
Tuesday, 25 September 2007

As someone involved in investing for retirement, one of the options that’s fallen by the wayside is the annuity program. Annuities used to be the only life care program available; the creation of Independent Retirement Accounts and Roth IRAs and employer managed 401(k) programs.

When factoring the three variables of Security, Liquidity and Rate of Growth, most annuities are a good mixture of assets and are an excellent asset preservation tool for a retiree.

Annuities are purchased from investment brokers who take your purchase price and put them into a low-risk investment pool. With several billions in aggregated investments, these can get excellent rates of returns. Most annuities are invested into state and municipal bonds or funds of state and municipal bonds, with some anchored by Treasury bonds. When you purchase an annuity, the investment broker will run through actuarial tables, factoring in your age, your health risks, family status and a bunch of other factors. From the perspective of the investment counselor, the purpose of an annuity is to make a small profit for the company and there are several factors tied into this.

In terms of Liquidity, annuities are not particularly liquid. You’ll get a monthly payment for as long as the annuity runs and that payment will never adjust for inflation. When purchasing an annuity, keep in mind that with a 4% inflation rate (roughly what the US has as an average), prices will double by the rule of 72. Divide 72 by the inflation rate and you’ll find out how long it’ll take for prices to double. This translates to a doubling every 18 years. (As a cross check, if you look at the price of a hamburger now, versus what it was in the late ‘80s, you’ll see that this holds true decently well.) As a result, look at how much the annuity will be paying you towards the end of the term as opposed to the beginning, to get the best utility for your own use.

Annuities tend to have low rates of growth; in fact, they’re not so much a wealth generation investment tool as a tool to disburse your wealth while you’re freed from the hassle of managing it. Most annuities have interest rates to preserve the payments in the realm of 4-6%. This works well for hedging against inflation, but not for generating new wealth from your existing assets. As the final step in getting the benefits of a retirement portfolio annuities are one of many tools worth considering.

Annuities do have the benefit of being mildly tax deferred. The interest they accrue before they mature isn’t taxable until you start pulling money out of them. Annuities are also worthwhile purchases if you know you’re going to have recurring monthly medical expenses. It’s a comforting feeling to know that your health care each month is covered.

Like all investments, annuities are tools and not panaceas. Carefully weigh all your options when considering one.

Sunday, 09 September 2007

Coughing, sneezing, sinus headaches, and dripping noses are just some of the miserable symptoms we allergy sufferers deal with every day. Indoor or outdoor, it doesn't really matter. Medications help some, but there is no cure for this often debilitating problem. At least if you have outdoor allergies, you can avoid going outside when pollen is most prevalent. If you have indoor allergies, you are out of luck. You live in your house, for goodness sake. What can you do? Live in a bubble? Personally, I wouldn't mind having a personal bubble, but that is impractical. What's the next best thing? Two words, air purifiers. They won't cure you, but they will make your life more comfortable.

Keyword Selection
Saturday, 01 September 2007

Search engines are the vehicles that drive potential

customers to your websites. But in order for visitors to

reach their destination - your website - you need to

provide them with specific and effective signs that will

direct them right to your site. You do this by creating

carefully chosen keywords.

Think of the right keywords as the Open Sesame! of the

Internet. Find the exactly right words or phrases, and

presto! hoards of traffic will be pulling up to your front

door. But if your keywords are too general or too

over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it

all the way to your site - or of seeing any real profits

from the visitors that do arrive - decreases dramatically.

Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing

strategy. If they are not chosen with great precision, no

matter how aggressive your marketing campaign may be, the

right people may never get the chance to find out about it.

So your first step in plotting your strategy is to gather

and evaluate keywords and phrases.

You probably think you already know EXACTLY the right words

for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven't

followed certain specific steps, you are probably WRONG.

It's hard to be objective when you are right in the center

of your business network, which is the reason that you may

not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the

inside. You need to be able to think like your customers.

And since you are a business owner and not the consumer,

your best bet is to go directly to the source.

Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of

potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words

from as many potential customers as you can. You will most

likely find out that your understanding of your business

and your customers' understanding is significantly

different.

The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the

words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you

probably never would have considered from deep inside the

trenches of your business.

Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from

outside resources should you add your own keyword to the

list. Once you have this list in hand, you are ready for

the next step: evaluation.

The aim of evaluation is to narrow down your list to a

small number of words and phrases that will direct the

highest number of quality visitors to your website. By

"quality visitors" I mean those consumers who are most

likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around

your site and take off for greener pastures. In evaluating

the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind three elements:

popularity, specificity, and motivation.

Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an

objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the

more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a

search engine which will then bring up your URL.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity

of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating

based on real search engine activity. Software such as

WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and

phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a

given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to

be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this

concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the

search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are

down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will

probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn't enough to declare a keyword a good choice.

You must move on to the next criteria, which is

specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater

the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase

your goods or services will find you.

Let's look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have

obtained popularity rankings for the keyword "automobile

companies." However, you company specializes in bodywork

only. The keyword "automobile body shops" would rank lower

on the popularity scale than "automobile companies," but it

would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of

getting a slew of people interested in everything from

buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get

only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled

fenders being directed to your site. In other words,

consumers ready to buy your services are the ones who will

immediately find you. Not only that, but the greater the

specificity of your keyword is, the less competition you

will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this

requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer

rather than the seller to figure out what motivation

prompts a person looking for a service or product to type

in a particular word or phrase. Let's look at another

example, such as a consumer who is searching for a job as

an IT manager in a new city. If you have to choose between

"Seattle job listings" and "Seattle IT recruiters" which do

you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were

looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would

you type in? The second one, of course! Using the second

keyword targets people who have decided on their career,

have the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you

as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school

who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or

her life in between beer parties. You want to find people

who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires

subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most

specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most

motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done.

You must continually evaluate performance across a variety

of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends

change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log

traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how

many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you

judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual

search engines. There is now software available that

analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic.

This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you

the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a

good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find

keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually

buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your

product. This is the most important factor in evaluating

the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the

sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective

or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better

profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for

search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work -

and it is! But the amount of informed effort you put into

your keyword campaign is what will ultimately generate your

business' rewards.

Finding Hip Hop Mix Podcasts
Written by Chad Cook
Sunday, 11 March 2007
Many music podcasts are available online for
downloading; if one wanted to find, for instance, a hip
hop mix podcast, there are a few sites available to help.
The first possibility would be to go directly to a site
which creates one and subscribe to it using a podcast
client which automatically checks the feed for new
episodes and downloads them for the user. If, however,
one did not know of any hip hop mix podcast sites, or
simply wanted to find new podcast sites, the best
possibility would be to check a podcast directory, a list
of podcasts that can be browsed.

There are lots of podcasts on PSP out there. Some of
them merely share information on the PlayStation
Portable and distribute it to people who are into portable
gaming. These podcasts act as news organizations,
sharing audio or video files, discussing the
PlayStation Portable and speculating about updates to
the PSP. Most though, take advantage of
the PlayStation Portable's ability to
download and play quality videos on the gaming screen.
Developers of the program PSP Video 9 first created a
program that could alter videos from computer types
like .avi and .mpeg to the format used by the Play

Podcast VideosThere are many podcast videos online that are free to download into your computer. Most online directories offer help in finding feeds for you to subscribe to, or you may even find one that is available from a website that you already enjoy visiting. Once you have searched through the available directories and located the feeds you would like to download, simply subscribe to it by using one of the many free podcast clients available. The podcast client will then download a mini file called a RSS file (Really Simple Syndication) . This file will notify your podcast client that there is a new file ready to be downloaded. The program will then notify you or depending on the client you choose it may automatically download the file for you. Once you receive the file, you are then free to listen to it at any time that is convenient for you, as often as you want.
