Finding a Podcast on PSPThere are lots of podcasts on PSP out there. Some of them merely share information on the PlayStation Portable and distribute it to people who are into portable gaming. These podcasts act as news organizations, sharing audio or video files, discussing the PlayStation Portable and speculating about updates to the PSP. Most though, take advantage of the PlayStation Portable's ability to download and play quality videos on the gaming screen. Developers of the program PSP Video 9 first created a program that could alter videos from computer types like .avi and .mpeg to the format used by the Play Station Portable. Once that was accomplished, it was soon possible to create podcasts for the PSP. Podcasters started making video files, putting them into a format compatible with the PlayStation Portable, and distributing them by podcast feed. These podcast feeds are subscribed to by interested parties who download the episodes as they come out. After the video files are transfered to the PlayStation Portable, they can be seen whenever the end user wants, the same as the other movies and professionally done videos available for the PSP. The PlayStation Portable has therefore evolved from simply being a portable gaming platform to a unit of full featured media hardware able to play games, store information, and play videos and movies, advancing toward an even more complex future. |
